Description
Wavy medium brown hair crowns the young man, or perhaps boy, who stands at about 5'0". Given his proportions, it looks as if he's not going to grow much more. His build is gangly and appears to owe more to frequent exercise than to malnourishment. Blue eyes are the focal point of a face with an average-sized nose and mouth, and varying degrees of acne, including a few acne scars which will probably disappear when the cause does. He usually wears an expression of almost comical mishap waiting to happen.
He wears standard-issue Weyr clothing, not necessarily tailored to fit and so a little on the large side. His long-sleeved shirt is tan, with a brown vest now that the weather is cold. His pants, also brown, need a belt in order to keep them up, and they're a little long. His wherhide boots are also brown, and though they don't quite match his pants or belt, they don't clash, either. On his shoulder is a simple knot in Igen Weyr's colors, simply looped to indicate the rank of courier.
History
Uodel's parents, residents of Fort Hold, never accomplished much, but they strongly encouraged their sons to make something of themselves when they came of age. In Uodel's case, this translated to apprenticing to the Harper craft at ten, given his excellent singing voice. He was decent at everything, but he only really excelled in vocals. It was fortunate, then, that just about when his voice broke he was searched for the 2754 clutch at Igen. He didn't impress but decided to stay at Igen until his voice settled. He stood again in 2755, by which time it was determined that his voice, while not bad, was not up to the promise of his younger days. He decided to stay on at Igen and continue trying his luck on the sands, doing general work in between clutches. His most recent attempt, for Oraceth by Ruweth's clutch of 2756, saw him once again left on the sands.
Hooks
Uodel has been at Igen Weyr for about two turns now. He was searched for the 2754 clutch and also stood in 2755 and 2756. When not being a candidate he works as a courier; he isn't much of a distance runner, but for anything within the Weyr he can generally get the message/parcel there among the quickest, and is hands-down the fastest sprinter. Because of his occupation, Uodel is very good at navigating the Weyr. He knows all of the little shortcuts and unused passages as well as any (and better than some) Weyr native(s).
Family
Uodel's parents are not available for RP unless someone wants to emit them for the various hatchings. They live at Fort Hold, and would have no reason to be at Igen Weyr otherwise, not to mention they'd have no way of getting there.
One of Uodel's brothers is currently old enough to be pcreated. I have left him completely blank so that anyone who wants to play him could have the character be whatever s/he wanted to be. One caveat, though — he is not a rider. Yet.
