Feedback
If for some reason it looks like you're not fitting into the area well, the area staff may at any time present you with feedback about what has been observed that seems to not be working. This feedback is never code for "we hate you, please leave". If you feel like you aren't fitting in, you can also approach area staff at any time to help discuss solutions.
Characters
Applications for instariders for all colors but gold remain open throughout the year. Crafters are currently being accepted in all crafts. If you want to get Searched, we suggest starting between the ages of 16-23. The upper Search age is 25.
Plots
Plots at Igen are character-based. That means we don't come up with an external plotline that involves primarily NPCs. If you want to do something which has a potential to impact the rest of the area, this is terrific; just check with staff and we'll work with you to make that happen. This also means we're happy to approve characters who are intended to be temporary antagonists, but we ask that you make sure that your primary alt in the area doesn't fit this description.
Private Rooms
All characters are entitled OOCly to a private room, but nonriders may ICly be assigned to share with someone if not high-ranking, due to current population problems. Your roommate will most likely be an NPC who you can make up however you like, but if you and another player want to be roommates, just let us know. The upper caverns may be used as a temporary @link point if we haven't gotten your room built yet.
Public Rooms
All public rooms are currently editable by anybody. This may be restricted in the future if it's abused. Type '+help room' to see the room desc code, and accordingly, if you see a typo, feel free to fix it. (Check a dictionary if you see something that looks wrong but you aren't sure.) If your character does something which would alter the way a room looks for longer than a couple hours afterwards, go ahead and update the description accordingly. Try to keep room descs to around 20 lines long or less.
If you can think of a public room that we should have but don't, you can still have a scene there by using the TP rooms, accessible from anywhere by typing 'tp'. That said, you can always suggest new building by contacting staff.
